About Us
Birmingham is growing at a rapid pace and we need to make sure that this growth works for all residents of the city - present and future - and creates lasting opportunities for them. There is real need for more and better homes - but the right type of homes in the right places for the people of all ages who need them.
This weeklong celebration is not merely about bricks and mortar; it's a testament to the city's resilience, ambition, and commitment to a future where homes and communities flourish. Birmingham Housing Week is not just an event; it's a movement, a collaboration that seeks to redefine the landscape of housing in this vibrant city.
What homes do we really need? How can we work with communities and local people most effectively in shaping regeneration in their area? Have we got capacity and skills in our housing and construction industry to deliver them? How can we work together to achieve Zero Carbon? - and how can we make sure that young people in the city today are at the heart of it all?
Birmingham Housing Week is a private sector funded initiative and the chance to share the plans for housing within the city and to start a series of conversations we need to make this investment happen. It's the chance to hear feedback and ideas from the industry and the housing sector, local communities and from the next generation as to how it can work for them. There are events, workshops, activities and surveys to help us understand what is important to you so please have a look and join in.
All of the conversations throughout the week will come together to form a report, which will be published after Birmingham Housing Week with what we have learned and how we can all work together to make it happen.
